Jim Bob's Rice Dressing

Jim Bob's Rice Dressing

The first bite of this dressing makes me think of my dad, “Jim Bob”. This is a regular fixing of his for steak night in the marsh every year during duck season. It’s an easy side dish to add to any BBQ gathering. It can even be cooked in the pit.

Ingredient List:

  • 1 ½ cups of uncooked rice
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can French Onion Soup
  • 1 jar Cheez Wiz
  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • ½ yellow onion, chopped
  • 2-3 Tbsp TX-KJN Envie

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Make sure the sausage breaks down throughout.

Pour mixture into a greased cast iron skillet. Bake covered for 1 - 1 ½ hours until rice and sausage are cooked (stirring half-way through the cooking process).

Note: This can also be prepared in a brown and serve bag on a cookie sheet instead of a cast iron skillet
