Jeremy's Warm Salsa

Jeremy's Warm Salsa

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we are sharing our favorite salsa recipe. It's delicious served warm or cold.  But, we think it's best served warm.  So much so that we struggle to get it into the bowl before diving in!

Ingredients:
6 to 8 Roma tomatoes (based on tomato size)
4 to 6 Serrano peppers (based on your heat preference)
1 medium onion
1 clove of garlic
1 bunch of cilantro
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. taco seasoning (we buy the bulk seasoning at our grocery store)
Envie to taste

Directions:
1. Roughly chop the tomatoes, onion, garlic, and peppers, removing the stems from the peppers.
2. Place the chopped ingredients in a medium pot and cover with water.
3. Bring the water to a rolling boil.
4. Remove the ingredients from the boiling water and place them into a food processor or blender. Add in the cilantro, as well.
5. Blend the ingredients to a smooth consistency, adding a bit of the water from the pot to help blend, if needed.
6. Pour out the remainder of the water in the pot and replace with the blended vegetables.
7. Stir in the chili powder and taco seasoning.
8. Stir in Envie to taste.
9. Heat on low for 15 to 20 minutes to marry the seasonings and blended vegetables.
10. Serve warm with your favorite tortilla chips.
