Crawfish French Bread

We can't imagine anyone who doesn't love crusty french bread and then to add a delicious blend of crawfish, cheese, and Envie... sign us up! YUM!

Ingredient List:

  • 1 lb frozen crawfish tails
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 bundle green onions, chopped
  • 3-4 cups Colby Jack shredded cheese
  • 1 loaf of French Bread
  • TX-KJN Envie
  • Garlic powder

Cooking Instructions:

In a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté green onions.  Add crawfish tails with seasoning to taste and cook for 5-10 minutes.

While the crawfish are cooking, take a serrated bread knife and cut off the top portion of the French bread loaf and set aside.  Take the bottom portion of the loaf and scoop out most of the soft white bread.  Make sure not to tear holes into the exterior bread crust.

Take 1-2 cups of shredded cheese and make a bed of cheese on the bottom of the loaf.  Add your crawfish mixture on top of the cheese. *Try to minimize the juice from the crawfish or it will make the bread too soggy.*

Once you have layered in the crawfish, top it with an additional 1-2 cups of cheese. Place the top half of the bread on top.  Wrap the bread in tin foil and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes (or the cheese is melted all the way through).

Allow the bread to rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting with a serrated bread knife and enjoy.

*Hint- keep the extra bread that was pulled out of the bottom loaf to dip and eat any of the crawfish mixture that was left over.
